Artist's Comments

The world was split into three spheres the first days of it's life. The upper, or Heaven was thought to be a place of light, wonder and happiness. Where the righteous and the just rested and where there was no suffering. The second sphere, was Earth. The lower inhabitants, conceived with their own free will, was a chaotic place full of both wonder and of the darkness that could only be found within the depths of human depravity. The third place, or Hell as it was called by some residents of the place, was a place of darkness and of punishment. It was also a place of redemption, and rebirth as those that found themselves upon this red world were either to be punished for eternity or to be reborn once their sins were cleansed and they repented.

Hell's geography was radically different from either of it's upper neighbors. There are nine cities, with the main capital in the middle of eight radiating cities. One road connects each city with the capital in a giant wheel. A river runs through the middle of the city with the gates on either end heavily guarded. The largest building Hell is the Black Citadel. This building is occupied by the ruler and his family.

Each new citizen upon completion of their punishment is given two choices- either become a resident, or be reborn on the upper sphere in the hopes of achieving the highest.

Michiru no Daimaou is the crown prince of Hell, the son of Pikoro Daimaou and Lilith- the woman conceived before Eve. He has always been so sure of himself, so sure in his place and now, with Daimaou's rebirth into insanity and the chaos that he is now causing on the middle plain.

The young leader is not sure he's ready for anything anymore.

Michiru belongs to ~HanaNoir . However, he's currently in use with myself and ~Onnikuso .

I'm really loving this piece, Dania. The hazy atmosphere contrasts really beautifully with the more muted, detailed drawing of Michi's face. The blue eyes make for a nice contrast/focal point...and really, it's just great to look at.

Thanks, hon. Working with a different palete is always interesting because I'm never sure in what I should be working with. Cools versus warms or muted versus vibrants.

I dont know much about the character idea (<--hermit) but I like the little writeup and the design thus far. is it the Lilith like edited-from-the-bible Lilith, or like Darkstalkers Lilith? or another one?

You know I love this. All the more with the greens toned down to olive. It makes the piece much more seamless. I know you said the style isn't your usual, but you rocked it pretty hard core. ^_^ Ya know I'm really happy- no THRILLED to be seeing your stuff in my inbox again!

Biblical Lilith with a twist. In the stories where she was created for Adam, she refused to lie under. She was summarily punished, and chained to the Garden of Eden, which was protected by several Archangels.

She managed to strike a deal with Lucifer before he fell, and when he created Hell, she ruled with him- until he became something that she hated, which was a lazy, indolent ruler instead of a helpmeet. Her daughters by him were slaughtered/abused, so she left and went in search of her remaining offspring in an attempt to save them.
